Welcome Voters
Why do I say “A Real Choice For The 2nd Assembly District”? Certainly not to slight any other candidate from any party, but rather because of my experience with real issues that have affected both myself and the District.
Over the course of several years, real issues, both personal and those regarding the general populace in the 2nd District, have drawn me into politics.
I care about the present, but most importantly, the future. I see real challenges for adults and youth alike within the district. I would help facilitate continued growth, prosperity and fairness.
I believe in respect and cooperation within the Government. I am also not afraid of tough issues and the decisions needing to be made because of them, affecting all of us in the 2nd District.
Some of the issues that I consider high priorities are as follows:
Child Support - I was a single parent for approximately 4 years and have experienced the trials and tribulations of a “Dead Beat Parent”, and the less than stellar performance of the State’s Child Support System. I will put this experience to work for the children within the district and within the entire State of Wisconsin.
Health Care Costs – As the owner, along with my wife, of an Italian Deli, paying $600 to $800 per month in insurance premiums for basically catastrophic coverage, is unacceptable. Not being able to provide cost effective insurance coverage for employees is unacceptable. Again, looking at my life’s experiences; put me to work to help cooperatively resolve this life threatening issue for the people of the 2nd District and the entire State of Wisconsin.
Education – Fair and equal access to education for all, and full accountability from our School Administration. Anything else is unacceptable. I have personally experienced the Public School System, and have sent my 3 children to both the Public and Private Education Systems.
Small Business – As the owner of a small business, let me be the “Real Choice” for the 2nd District. Collectively, small businesses pay the “Lion’s Share” of taxes, be it State, Local and Payroll. Let us also not forget fees due to many mandated, unfunded regulatory issues. Let me make a real effort to loosen this burden and give the consumers of the 2nd District quality products at reasonable prices, as we would all expect.
Shared Revenue-Local units of Government within the 2nd district are strapped, especially the areas showing slow growth. State Lawmakers deal the cards, and local units of Government play the best hand they can with the cards dealt. With my experience in Local Government, I will work cooperatively with all Local Units of Government for fairness and equality in the use of our dollars being sent to the State. Please allow me to be “The Real Choice”.
Environment- Preserving and protecting our environment must be a non partisan priority. Wisconsin's natural resources offer active and passive enjoyment for residents and visitors, and the economic impact on our states economy is huge. Wisconsin must be a leader in water quality, both ground and surface waters. With the abundance of our resources we have the ability to be a leader in alternative energy reducing our dependence on oil.
